In-app event card backgrounds

An in-app event card is a 16:9 image that carries your event's badge. The free first download is 1920 × 1080, Apple's minimum; the 4K export is its maximum.

The App Store shows your event's badge (Live Event, Premiere, Major Update and others) with the card. Leave the art calm enough for it, and don't repeat what the badge says.

Make both shapes

Every event needs a 16:9 card and a 9:16 image for its details page. Make the card here, then the portrait version at 9:16 with the same palette so the two match.

Room for a big file

Event media can be up to 500 MB, so there's no reason to compress the 4K export: upload it as it comes.

Video works too

The card can be a 16:9 video, 15 to 30 seconds at 30 or 60 fps. It's muted by default.

Questions

What size is an App Store in-app event card?
16:9, from 1920 × 1080 to 3840 × 2160 pixels, as a JPG or PNG, up to 500 MB. A video card is the same size, 15 to 30 seconds long.
Do I need a portrait version?
Yes. The event details page uses a 9:16 image, from 1080 × 1920 to 2160 × 3840.
Is it free to download?
Yes. The first download needs no account: 1920 × 1080 at 16:9. A free account exports 5 4K images a month, 3840 × 2160 at this ratio, with no watermark.
Can I use my own colours?
Yes. Every example opens in the studio at 16:9. Change the palette (paste your brand's hex codes), the style, the grain and the blur, then export.
