1920 × 1080

A 16:9 slide, the default in Keynote, Google Slides and PowerPoint. The studio's 16:9 frame is the same shape.

Projectors and screen shares can lose a sliver at the edge. Keep titles and logos about 5% in and they're never clipped.

Two backgrounds per deck

Use a calm version of a palette behind content slides and a bolder one, more contrast or another style, for the title and section breaks. Same colours, so the deck holds together.

Set it as the master

In Keynote or PowerPoint put the image on the slide master (Google Slides: Theme builder), so every new slide starts with it and nobody nudges it by accident.

Mind the projector

Projectors wash out dark, subtle gradients. If you're presenting in a bright room, raise Contrast in the studio before exporting; on a screen share, the defaults are fine.

Questions

What size should a slide background be?
1920 × 1080 pixels for a 16:9 deck, which is the default in Keynote, Google Slides and PowerPoint. The studio's 4K export is twice that, so it stays sharp on large screens.
Will a 4K image make my deck heavy?
A few megabytes per background. Reuse the same image on the master rather than pasting it into every slide, and the file only carries it once.
Is it free to download?
Yes. The first download needs no account: 1920 × 1080 at 16:9. A free account exports 5 4K images a month, 3840 × 2160 at this ratio, with no watermark.
Can I use my own colours?
Yes. Every example opens in the studio at 16:9. Change the palette (paste your brand's hex codes), the style, the grain and the blur, then export.
